Hello there!
My nail is Rebekah and I’m looking into getting water based nail polishes. I think I am going to get some keeki pure and simple, based on your reviews acquarella and Keeki pure and simple seem to be the longest lasting and easiest to apply. I have a few questions about Keeki pure and simple. Ok, so… conventional nail polishes don’t last that long on me like after a day or two it will start chipping and then peeling off in huge sheets (probably because I have oily nail beds?) so do you thing water based polishes (acquarella and keeki pure and simple) would last longer? Also do you like the colors glazed doughnut and hot cocoa? I really l love those colors from keeki pure and simple but I’m not sure if they would look good on my skin tone, which is about the same as yours. Thank you so much I really love your website I think it gives really good honest opinions.
Hi Rebekah,
When you use water based nail polishes it is important that your nails are very clean and free from oil. I would recommend washing your hands, buffing your nails, and washing your hands again before applying Keeki Pure & Simple nail polish. Buffing your nails should help remove some of the natural oils and any residue from lotion. Also, keep in mind that water based nail polishes tend to work better after you have been wearing them for a while. So you might want to start out wearing Glazed Donut, in case it chips the first couple times you wear it. Once you are getting good results try a darker color like Hot Cocoa. I have not worn either of those colors, but they look pretty on the website. I am thinking about getting Hot Cocoa sometime, so please let me know how you like it.
As far as whether water based polish will last longer on you than conventional polish, I am not really sure. Even conventional polish varies from brand to brand. If the Keeki polish chips at first, do not give up. Try removing it and applying it again. It might work better after a few times. And definitely use the base and top coats along with the colored polish.
I hope that water based polish works out for you!
Thank for replying so quickly I will let you know if I like Hot Cocoa.
